Travel Grant

The ICSCR is pleased to announce the availability of need-based travel grants to offset the cost of attending the ICSCR in January 2019 in Lisbon, Portugal. The maximum award for an individual is $1,000 and the total number of travel grants to be awarded depends on the availability of funding.

The following criteria are applied to determine which applicants will be awarded travel grants:

• The applicant must have a paper or symposium accepted for presentation at the ICSCR Annual Conference. Note that if a paper is co-authored, only the individual(s) presenting the paper is/are eligible for a travel grant.
• The applicant must submit a one-page statement of the relevance of the conference to their career in school choice and their need for a travel grant.
• Priority will be given to international scholars who have no alternative funding source to offset the cost of attending the conference.

To apply, please submit this one-page statement, along with a current CV, to the travel grant committee members: Nina Buchanan (ninab@hawaii.edu), Rodrigo Queiroz e Melo (rqmelo@ucp.pt) and Pedro Barbas Homem (pedrobarbashomem@gmail.com) using the subject: “Application for ICSCR Travel Grant.” The application deadline is October 12, 2018.

Decisions will be made based on the relevance of the conference to the applicant’s progress in his/her career and expressed need. Successful applicants will be notified by the selection committee via email by October 30, 2018 and subsidies will be disbursed via EdChoice approximately 30 days after the conference. Travel receipts must be provided.
